Activision has just released an abbreviated video of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6's Most Wanted campaign level, in which you and a friend infiltrate an American fundraiser to rescue the character Adler, who has just returned from the clutches of the Bad Dudes. Good news for Call Of Duty fans: it looks like Call Of Duty. There's a homing knife, an exploding remote-controlled car, and a big guy in full body armor with an overcompensating minigun. The video speeds up at intervals, depriving us of the full picture, but we do get a sense of the setting. “Do it loud or silent,” you say? It sounds like Call Of Duty giving you the ability to sneak around an area, although the footage doesn’t show us that. We also get brief glimpses of an equipment wheel, a sprinkling of QTEs, and a few gadgets.
At one point, the player uses a camera to take a picture of someone's head and simulate a retinal scan. There's also one of those elevator escapes where you have to break through the ceiling and rappel down and oops, there's an explosion. Then it's off to a big room to play “steer the homing knife in slow motion” with a fast-paced motorcycle escape to finish it off. It seems pretty solid. I've played crazier Black Ops levels, but this one is relatively frantic. Also, ouch, that fryer thing.
Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25, with a beta planned for late August.
