Steam Rhythm Fest is underway with discounts and demos for games with a good rhythm

We've been distracted by Gamescom, multiple game releases, the British summer quickly coming to an end. Or I suppose we have, because why else wouldn't we have a post about Steam Rhythm Fest yet, which started on Monday and runs until August 26th at 10am PT/6pm BRDST*.

*British Summer Time is rapidly decreasing.

Like all Steam festivals, this one features a collection of discounts and demos based on a theme. Trombone Champ? 65% off. Crypt Of The Necrodancer? Cheaper than the price of a harmonica. Rhythm Doctor? Only 10% off, but worth every penny.

As a demo, you can try Rift Of The Necrodancer, which ditches the original game's dungeon for a Guitar Hero-esque version of musical combat. You can also try Bits & Bops, which seems to work perfectly in the Rhythm Heaven mode.

Otherwise, I'd say there's less overlap than usual between unreleased games and those with demos, but there's still plenty to play that I bet you've never tried or heard of before. Robobeat, for example, which slipped my mind but impressed Nic when it came out in May.

On the VR side, you'll also find a demo of the upcoming Metal: Hellsinger VR. The full game's release date was announced last week, on October 3.
