If you live in the UK, you may have noticed that this week is a working day. The gullible attribute this to the existence of a “bank holiday” on Monday the 26th, but true insiders like us know the sad truth: The Mouth ate one of our weekdays. We've dispatched our finest gastronauts equipped with extremely long pincers to retrieve the missing Monday from the bowels of the Maw. We can only hope it hasn't been digested yet – imagine living in a world with a four-day work week? How awful. Regardless, here are this week's PC game releases.
Tuesday, August 27th, an unholy gnashing of teeth and the early access release of the mytho-MOBA Smite 2. Also, the launch of the metroidvania Crypt Custodian, a sitar-driven Middle Eastern action platformer, The Land Of The Magnates. Wednesday, August 28th, a ribald lip-smacking and the release of Supermoves, aka Mirror's Edge in multiplayer, aka first-person parkour royale. Also, the immersive first-person RPG Corpus Edax and the apocalyptic anime rhythm game for girls Kamitsubaki City Ensemble. Thursday, August 29th, a mighty sneeze and the launch of Square Enix's latest RPG, Visions Of Mana. Also, the retro side-scrolling of Shadow Of The Ninja – Reborn, the deck-building base defense of Warcana, the defensive action of Bloodless and the obvious Squirrel With A Gun. And on Friday, August 30th, uncontrollable laughter and the release of Star Wars Outlaws. And also, the Dale & Dawson Stationery Supplies desktop role-playing game, billed as “a secret battle of productivity versus procrastination.” My goodness, they made a game just for me.
As always, these are just the PC games that stand out as worth playing while my brain is running at its standard 15 RPM operating threshold. There are probably a few quality ones I’ve missed – feel free to point them out in the comments. You can follow what we affectionately call “our journalism” in the live news blog below. Have a great week! And yes, fingers crossed for the safe return of Mondays.
World of Warcraft's latest expansion/overhaul, The War Within, is now live, adding a new flight system, a new continent, new “bite-sized” delves for groups of up to five, and a new campfire character select screen, among other things.

A Nintendo Direct stream will air today at 3pm UK time. “What’s a Nintendo?” you scoff, but look, they’re promising third-party announcements. It’s likely that some of the games in question will also be coming to PC.
