It's time to set the record straight! was not too busy playing Black Myth: Wukong to write this past weekend's Playing This Weekend. I would never disappoint you like that! Instead, I got one of the worst flus I've ever had, followed by a nasty bout of tonsillitis, for which I'm still on antibiotics. Luckily, I can now stare at a screen for over an hour before feeling sick, so gaming is no longer out of the question for this weekend. Let's see what we all click on!

While compiling our best racing games, I downloaded Wreckfest and now find myself booting it up at irregular intervals to cause muddy multiplayer pileups. So maybe more of that. I'm also playing Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 to test it out, so I might dive in for more xeno dismemberment. Who knows!

It's vacation!

It's another weekend of extracurricular projects for me – I have Monday off so I can get a proper night's sleep. On the gaming front, I might try out the new sandbox mode for Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, or run a demo for some horror game, like Threshold.
Graham
I joined Ed on vacation!
Jacques
I crashed Ed and Graham's vacation!

I'm back from a vacation in the US, which wasn't really a vacation since I was supposed to see family, and my wife unfortunately sprained her ankle two days into our trip. Ouch. In the midst of all this stress, I installed Black Myth: Wukong on my Steam Deck and can confirm that it more or less runs, and looks even more like a PS2 game (hello invisible walls) at those low graphics settings! Anyway, this weekend I'm all about Wukong as I work on taking down more of those bosses. When I'm not monkeying around, I'll be accompanying my wife for afternoon tea while her ankle heals.

This weekend I'll be playing Star Wars Outlaws again. I know the game has gotten pretty average reviews, but it turns out I'm enjoying it easily. It has the classic Star Wars cheesiness, but less of the Ubisoft clunkiness. The stealth can be frustrating at times, but for the most part I enjoy it the same way I enjoy an easy popcorn movie at the theater.

Actually I don't know what I'm playing yet, but I couldn't let anyone else beat my record lol lol eat dirt, losers, king of WAWAPTW 5eva (Jedi Survivor, maybe. Feeling a bit more Star Wars after playing Outlaws).

In addition to my usual multiplayer FPS games, I've started playing a bit of Deadlock on the side. It's really fun. It reminds me of my Smite days. I've even found a hero that draws people to him, much like Hades from Smite, who has always been my main hero. The shop remains a mystery to me, as it almost always is with MOBAs, but I'm hoping that this weekend I'll find some time to dive into the mechanics of things like Spirit Power and Flex Slots, and start to understand what's going on during a match.
But you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend?
